PANCAKE BREAKFAST
From north to south, from east to west, by land and by water they came. On the morning of January 6, 2007,
thirty-three of the brothers, their family members and guests of LuzViMinda
Lodge gathered together for the first Pancake Breakfast.
The
fund that was generated from this event was more than what the lodge
projected. As early as the day before,
the lodge has recovered its $700.00 investment. More than these monies however, it was the
camaraderie that made this event more successful than one can imagine. That day reinforced the bond that binds the
lodge members and the families: as in getting together one chilly morning and
having a sip of hot coffee or coco and then just chat. Yes, we best work and best agree. It should be noted that this young lodge has
cross-membership with other lodges and each plural member brings his strength,
as was manifested during this January day.
The talents of the members are more than just feeding the human mind and
spirit as in our Masonic rituals - these guys can feed the human stomach - they
can also do kitchen duties.
Kudos
to all! The kitchen crew was overstaffed
and overjoyed as they prepared our pancakes, eggs and ham. Their smiles and horsing around and kidding
and teasing were just contagious. The
waiters and servers and bus people were so simply pleasant and amiable and quick. A few brothers who were unable to make it
early, helped in the clean up. The
We
cannot thank enough, as always, the ladies of the lodge and guests who
supported us in this endeavor.
